Maria Anna Mozart. (July 30, 1751-October 29, 1829) Salzburg, Austria
Called Marianne, she was a musician, composer, and child prodigy, who toured with her younger brother, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to show off their talent. She was noted as an excellent harpsichord player and forteoianist. Wolfgang looked up to Marianne, and was said to have been inspired to study music by observing his father's instruction of Marianne, and that he wanted to be like her. When she reached "marriageable age" her father no longer permitted her to showcase her artistic talents. There are many letters from Wolfgang to Marianne praising her work, unfortunately none of her compositions have survived.
